Detective Chief Superintendent Alexandra "Alex" Carlton (Rachel Griffiths)

An ambitious, driven officer who expects results from her officers, but also expects the rules to be followed. The Police and Criminal Evidence Act is there for a reason.

Dr. Jacqueline "Jack" Baxter (Sarah Clarke)

A forensic pathologist, Jack's job is to cut up corpses and identify what made them corpses. She grew up in an undertaker's; this has arguably had its effect on her.

Sergeant Andrew "AJ" Reed

A dispatcher for Greater Manchester Police, based in their headquarters. Formerly an Area Car driver, he's no longer got the reflexes he did and has taken this role in his last few years before he collects his pension. He knows more about radios than most people.

Behind the scenes

Sierra Charlie Four is actually Silent Hunter's third attempt at a British policing-based sim, the previous two attempts being set in London and called "Special Unit". Both sims fell into inactivity and were terminated as a result.

The decision to utilise Manchester as a setting was due to Silent feeling that London was an overused setting for police procedurals.
