Air Chief Marshal Sir Percy Wallington GCB CBE DFC BA FCIPD RAF[:1:] is the Chief of the Air Staff in the sim Fighter Ops.

Aged 55, Sir Percy was born in 1960 as the youngest of four children of a stockbroker and a secretary, who packed him off to Eton College for his education. He excelled at his studies and were it not for his desire to join the Air Force as soon as possible, he would have been a certainty for Oxford. In the end, he got his History degree from the Open University and also did the CIPD qualification through evening classes.

He joined the RAF in 1980, flying Panavia Tornado IDS aircraft in both their GR1 and GR4 forms with 9 Squadron, spending most of his flying career at Bruggen in Germany. He wasn't fully ready for the 1982 Falklands War, a conflict the Tornado took no part in anyway.

In 1991, he flew in the Gulf War, conducting dangerous low-level attacks on Iraqi airfields (operations that cost the RAF six Tornadoes) and gaining his DFC for bringing back a damaged aircraft that he and his WSO would have been excused for ejecting from. His participation in Operation Allied Force in 1999 over the former Yugoslavia, as Officer Commanding 9 Squadron, didn't involve nearly that level of personal danger, but that was his last flying operation and he moved to a staff role in 2002.

In 2013, he became Chief of the Air Staff and was knighted, entering the Order of the Bath. Out of personal choice, he chose to do an all-night vigil at the Order's chapel in Westminster Abbey.

In his spare time, he likes to fish, paint and sing in his church's choir.
